Walking in his footsteps...

Dad would have been 80 years old today.  It was a milestone birthday that my oldest sister and I celebrated together.  We celebrated by taking a trip...a road trip in
the town he lived in as a child and young adult. We were able to follow some of the paths he took by reading some of his memoirs that I begged him to write back in the late 90's.  I'm so grateful to him for being so obliging.  It was our road map to ground he walked.  He was our compass today.  Thank you dad.

I never really grasped his deep love of the ocean until today.  Today, I understood completely.

And then there's the food.   I've always understood....it's always about the food!

We thank you for putting up with us!
Lunch was dad perfect!  Onward to another place he mentioned...

time for the ride home...

Happy 80th Birthday to you Dad!
Love you and miss you each and every day.

Patches, he was very fond of you. I often think of the motorcycle on BI story he told of you. Happy Birthday to you, too. And, a great big thank you going out for your comment here. That means you now know how to visit my blog! :)

Have a great day!
