Chinese New Year.....with a twist

Since Friday was Chinese New Year ( the year of the horse) , I thought it only fitting that my husband take me out for dinner.....for Chinese cuisine.  I left a really cute note hinting of this and when I arrived home, he was ready to go out.  Not for Chinese though, but Italian.  Eh, what the heck....I wanted to go out anywhere anyway!  As it turned out, it was a great choice of restaurants.....

Right on the main drag in Westerly RI, ("uptown" as the natives call it) there is a delicious Italian restaurant that serves a wonderful thin crust New York style pizza that I adore.  But, that wasn't what we had.....which is our usual when we dine there.

I ordered the Cobb salad and may I say....it was one of the best I've ever eaten.  It was a very large portion, with nice big chunks of all the goodies you find in a Cobb salad.   I knew I'd have lunch the next day with what I couldn't eat there.  Jerry ordered the chicken parmesan which looked yummy.  I usually end up tasting whatever he gets, but I was just so happy with my salad that the thought didn't even cross my mind to have a taste of his dish.

Then came dessert.....oh my!  Our waitress temped us with "Chocolate Guinness Cheesecake"....enough said!  Two forks please.  With fresh cream on the side, it was heavenly.  Thank you Lesia for suggesting that.
So, the next time you happen to be cruisin' down the avenue....130 F Granite St. to be exact....stop in and indulge in a slice of Italy right here in Rhode Island.  I recommend it.

That last bite?....mine.
